Regular Sunday morning activities in the main sanctuary include contemporary worship enhanced by our Praise Band, alternating with traditional liturgy featuring the Chancel Choir and Bell Choir. Meanwhile Children's Church in Clift Chapel is structured for children of kindergarten age through fifth grade.

We offer many special times of worship during the year, including our Candlelight Communion on Christmas Eve, our Maundy Thursday, and our Living Last Supper. What a joy it is to worship our God together!

A broad variety of specific age-related ministries exists for children, youth, and adults.

Many elementary school-aged children participate in Worship on Wednesday (WOW), an after school program open to the community.

In the summertime the church sponsors Vacation Bible School, Music Camp, and other one-day events.

Pre-school children and parents benefit from Journey Preschool, offering licensed childcare in an atmosphere of faith-based nurturing.

For Adolescents and teens, Methodist Youth Fellowship activities include Bible study, Volunteers in Missions, a youth praise band, liturgical drama groups, and District-and Conference-level youth camps.

Adults enjoy Wednesday night fellowships, ladies' and men's study groups, an annual church-wide bazaar, and inter-generational events such as talent shows and dances.

Valley Praise

Valley Praise started in February of 2006 by the ministry of First United Methodist Church of Harlingen, TX. When you come to worship you can expect a laid back and relaxed atmosphere where you can put everything aside and just worship. Come in your jeans or shorts and leave all your problems at the door. We encourage feeling of community and we extend that when you first enter the building.

The Message

Pastor Aaron Saenz brings a message of hope and encouragement every week. He promotes a spiritually healthy Christian lifestyle that is reinforced with each message. The messages relate scripture with our everyday lives and how they instruct us to love, live, and be joyful.

The Music

Our music is what you hear on your local Christian radio stations, but played with an edge. Our band gives all honor to God through their gift of song week in and week out. By the way, don't be afraid to clap your hands, stomp your feet, or raise your hands in worship.

The People

You will find that the people of Valley Praise come from all walks of life and all different experiences, cultures, and church history. You can see somewhere among us. We are a representation of what God wants of our kingdom. We seek to offer a place where all people may come to know Jesus as their personal friend and savior.

Sunday school meets every Sunday mornings from 9:35 - 10:30 a.m. What a fun and exciting way to show Christ's Love to our children.

Classes are available for the following:

...Ages 3 and 4
...Kindergarten
...Grades 1 and 2
...Grades 3 and 4
...Grade 5

Teachers, helpers and substitutes are needed for children's classes.

We offer
nursery care

for children ages newborn thru 3 years during Sunday morning services and newborn thru 5 years for meeting and other church events.

If you need childcare you must call the church nursery or Danna Alcorn at least 24 hours in advance so she has time to make the appropriate arrangements
