Welcome to our world of ministry for/with/by children.
The smiles of children making new discoveries...
The energy of children in a group setting...
The sounds of children in song and in learning...
And the insights of children as God is present in their lives.
Preschool Program M-F 8:05-1pm; Extended Care M-F 1:00- 3:oop.m.
An outline of the various programs we have for your children:
Sunday School
Sunday school is a fun and exciting
way to show Christ’s Love to our children.
Teachers, helpers and substitutes are needed for
children’s classes. Please call Iris
Saenz if you
can help in anyway. Sunday school meets on Sunday
mornings from 9:35 – 10:30 a.m. Classes are available for the
following: 3 and 4 Year Olds, Kindergarten,
Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3 and 4, Grade 5.
Acolytes
HELP NEEDED - Acolytes
help out during the 10:40 Sunday Church service. We do not
have many this year. If
you are in the 4th – 8th grade and
would like to participate or just want more information
please contact Emma Forrest.
Children's Choir Opportunity
Children’s Choir provides an opportunity for
children in grades K through 5 to learn music and drama and
to lead in Sunday worship once a month just like the “big
people” do!
Rehearsals are Sundays at 3:30 p.m. The
combined children from these two groups also form the chorus
for the Children’s Christmas Musical. Music Camp
held July 14-18 with performance on July 20th
at 10:45 am.
Nursery Care
For children ages newborn thru 3
years during Sunday morning services and newborn
thru 5 years for meeting and other church events.
If you need childcare you must call
the church nursery or Iris Saenz at least 24 hours in
advance so she has time to make the appropriate
arrangements
Elementary Camps
These are
usually held at Camp Thicket throughout the year for both
girls and boys. Helpers are needed for Elementary camps
for discussion leaders, cooks, etc. during the day, and
overnight helpers are especially important. Scholarships are
available.
Vacation
Bible School
June 23-27 from 1:30-5:30
pm with performance on Friday evening June 27th.
Summer
Activities
Activities are planned
for the summer.
These consist of six days
(two each month
during the summer months)
for fun, crafts, field trips, etc.
Helpers and leaders are needed
to co-ordinate one or more of
these fun days.
Summer
Music Camp
Held July 14-18 with performance on July 20th at 10:45 am. Music Camp meets for one week in the summer with children entering grades k-6. Activities center around preparation for a musical which is performed the following Sunday, but include daily recreation as well. Helpers are needed. We also rely on our youth entering grades 7-12 and many generous adults to make this week a success.
Fall Festival
Each year a fall festival is held during October. This
is usually a substitute for Halloween trick or treating.
The festival is held in the R.C.C. gym. It is usually
held on a Saturday or Sunday evening.
Many volunteers are needed
to supervise games, serve refreshments, give prizes, and see
that the children have fun.
Journey Preschool
is an outreach children’s ministry.
The
purpose of Journey Preschool is to maintain a child-centered program in
which children of all background, races, and abilities may
develop physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and
spiritually, in a loving Christian atmosphere where
children’s feelings of self-worth and regard for others are
placed above achievement. Classes
are available Monday through Friday, 8:30-1:00. Children
are placed in the following classes according to age, but
variations may occur due to the child’s own development.
18 months
to 2 years old, 2 years
old, 3 years
old, 4 & 5
years old.
REMEMBER ALWAYS, CHILDHOOD SHOULD BE A JOURNEY AND NOT A RACE!
